Nursery Updates

I have hit pause on the nursery, reluctantly and completely out of my hands.

I am stilllllll waiting for the Schumacher lavender sisal wallpaper to arrive. There is constant communication going on and it looks like it should be here by the end of Jan or first week of Feb!

So I cannot really go on with much else until I have that paper in my hand and can take it to fabric/decorating shops to match colours.

I.E pick curtain fabric!! That is the major one.

But here is a little snap shot of how it is coming along.

The first row is my ikea hack plans.

The second row is my lamp, my cot and my armchair

The third row is my framed shell artwork and 2 samples of fabric I would like for the curtains. I want a paisley fabric. The last picture is of my window with my white roman shade.

The fourth row is fabric that will feature in the room, my wardrobe and the floor plan.

just came across your blog, it’s so lovely :) i’m looking forward to reading your wedding posts.

  2. That’s a pain having to wait for the wallpaper. Can you get them to send you a sample at least so that you can colour match? Or even be sneaky and ask another company that stocks the same paper to send you a sample?

Nope. I have been waiting for wallpaper samples since Nov 20th!!!! The only places I can get a sample from are those snooty trade only fabric houses in Paddington.

I’m beside myself excited to see your nursery finished. I love everything!

Hope these wallpaper people deliver soon! x

HEHE. Thanks. Me too! It is all in my head. I hope to get the wallpaper soon too. I need time to complete the ikea hack and was hoping to have it done and finished in time for my baby shower on Feb 23rd. Fingers crossed

    Hi Laura
I love all your nursery stuff. Can’t wait to see it finished.
The cot and wardrobe are my favourites.
I’m beginning to work on Charlotte’s ‘big girl room’ (mind you she is only 18 months old though with the new baby due in March she is getting kicked out of the nursery) and was thinking about paisley curtains (or bedding) too. Have you found any affordable paisley fabric options here in Oz (keeping in mind that to me ‘affordable’ means reasonably cheap skate)? I’m contemplating making my own.

No. It is the bane of my existence. The swatches featured in that image are Osbourne & Little and are still not quite what I want and are $200+ a metre! Don’t worry, I too am a totally cheap skate. They are definitely not an option. I was going to try and attempt to make my own too. What I wanted was like and indian block print paisely. I couldn’t find anything. I am 100% certain you can pull these off yourself. I was either going to try and do them on my mothers embroidery machine. 1 motif repeated or you could try a stencil. I am now going to go in a new direction with the curtains though. I need fabric that is like less then $20 a metre LOL.
