House updates, baking and baby

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013

On the babymoon, I visited a 2nd hand shop in Huskisson. I spotted this ceramic bundt tin, I was smitten.

I baked a carrot cake in it. The recipe said it would take 55 to 60 mins, it took 2 hours!!!

But it still worked out in the end.

On to baby, Look at her cute little jackets! The first 2 are Christmas presents from my Aunty. The last one is from Nanny Pickle. Such a cute brand. It has a little hoodie.

This one is my fav. I purchased this on the babymoon in Ulladulla from Mrs Higgins. It’s pure wool and hand knitted. For a whopping $24. Other baby stores sell acrylic blend cardigans, made in China fro $49.95!!! (Yes SEED, I’m looking at you)

Again on the babymoon, this time in Berry. I bought these very cute, super tiny booties. Merino wool, handmade in Berry.

I bought this rug AGES ago. Just haven’t put a pic up. I bought it from HALI. Dank St, Waterloo. On sale. It is for the hallway. Now if I could get the fringe to sit flat.

I also finished sewing my curtains, ages ago. I am most impressed with them! The fact that they worked out, I sewed them, they look great! I just can’t get over it. I am beside myself with pride!

Next up is to make baby girl curtains for the nursery!

This Marimekko fabric frame has been leaning against the wall, perched on top of the couch for the best part of year. It is now finally on the wall!

Have you ever see anything more prettier in your entire life?

17th blog post 5

This little room of mine has turned into an obsession!

I sketched this pic today while I was at work.

I’m not the best at perspective drawing. This is the best I could do from my memory.

(LOL the legs of the armchair and chest of drawers are up the wall hahahha)

While I wait for my resources to arrive by post (mainly my lavender wallpaper) I plan and plan and plan!

This room will be the first room in our house that will be completed and it has a deadline and I am working towards it! Putting my all into it.

Next I want to work on my bedroom and front yard. I have plants that are still in pots that need to be planted in the front yard. They are not growing and are just being stifled. They need to go into the ground STAT.

Back to the nursery. I am just kind of in limbo at the moment. I need the goods to arrive, so I can match other things to them and I need them in the flesh!

At least I have made a decision on the curtains and how I am going to make them!

2 year wedding anniversary

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013

This year we coupled our wedding anniversary and our babymoon together. It was the perfect timing.

To celebrate we had lunch at Bannisters in Mollymook.

I love scallops. I order them every time I see them on the menu

Beetroot cured salmon

The crunchiest batter I have ever had. Blue eye trevalla

Deconstructed pav.

Panna cotta.

It was a lovely little treat.

Nursery Updates

Tuesday, January 15th, 2013

I have hit pause on the nursery, reluctantly and completely out of my hands.

I am stilllllll waiting for the Schumacher lavender sisal wallpaper to arrive. There is constant communication going on and it looks like it should be here by the end of Jan or first week of Feb!

So I cannot really go on with much else until I have that paper in my hand and can take it to fabric/decorating shops to match colours.

I.E pick curtain fabric!! That is the major one.

But here is a little snap shot of how it is coming along.

The first row is my ikea hack plans.

The second row is my lamp, my cot and my armchair

The third row is my framed shell artwork and 2 samples of fabric I would like for the curtains. I want a paisley fabric. The last picture is of my window with my white roman shade.

The fourth row is fabric that will feature in the room, my wardrobe and the floor plan.

(right click on the pic and go “view image” if you wish to see it bigger)

Honeymoon Highlights

Monday, January 14th, 2013

On this day 2 years ago I was boarding a Qantas A380 to LA for the first leg of our honeymoon.

32 hours of travel and transit we arrived in our first destination.

I never shared my honeymoon with you guys because I was overwhelmed with the mammoth task of sorting photos and all that is involved. But I am finally ready and I want to re-live it all again, as it was seriously the best trip!

I will do a weekly feature called:

Which will be in chronological order starting next week!

Stay tuned.

Welcome 2013

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

Hello everyone!

Just popping into my blog from the comfort of my babymoon.

I am currently 27 weeks pregnant and stealing 10 glorious days away with my husband in New South Wales south coast. Enjoying and savouring every last wink of sleep. I know this is the very last we will receive. . . . EVER!

I know I have kept you hanging long enough with the reveal of the babies gender, so here you go!

A little baby girl.

Once we return from our sojourn we both have a very long to do list to complete before the arrival of our baby.

I have a mobile, a quilt and curtains to sew.

I also have my IKEA hack to work on. (Still waiting on my lavender sisal wallpaper. I placed the order on November 30th!!!) I even received an email saying order by December 5th for pre-Christmas delivery. . . . . . hmmmmm

Lets not even go there in regards to the samples order I placed on Nov 20th. If I don’t receive either of these items, be prepared for a name and shame blog post. I so far DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

Anyways, look at my fabric stash. I have purchased all these fabrics at 3 patchwork shops on the babymoon, clearly the worst has happened.

I have finally turned into my mother!

I also need to do a 2012, year in review post. I want to look back at a glimpse at all the things I have achieved last year!

Here’s to 2013 and being even better then the last!
