I worked at my government job today

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

And…. I got a semi update on the job prospects!

The estimation is by the end of next week I should hear whether I was successful or not. I seriously can not wait anymore. I have so much riding on this job. So many things can change for me and it would just be ‘Welcome to awesome town’ if I was to get it.

But of course, if I don’t things will of course be okay!

I wonder if I will be able to deal with not getting the job, I hope this is not the case. I don’t know anyone else who also applied for this job. It is doing my head in. It has been 5 weeks and 3 days since the interview!

I asked a co- worker for feedback on my Wedding stationary design, nothing but net! She loved it! Just got to keep churning out the brill’ designs!

I am working on a fellow voguettes wedding invitations. Trying something new! Mixing it up with different fonts. I hope she loves the final result!

So, if I get this job, that is something I am going to do! work 3 – 4 days a week designing bespoke wedding invitations in accordance with my graphic design background.

All so exciting – I just need to hear about this bloody recruitment process!

I haven’t even mentioned my jeff white yet!

How Ridiculous of me!

What is a Jeff White? Well, in my opinion, he is only the best gem cutter on the planet! Won many an award!

I have commissioned him to facet a rough Malaya Garnet for me. A Malaya garnet is a garnet that is peachy pink in colour. It scores an 7.5 on the MOH’s scale of hardness, making it durable enough for setting it into a ring.

The rough chosen will cut between 2 and 4 cts. I hope it hits the sweet spot if 4cts! It will cut in an Oval Shape. This is a nice shape because it elongates the finger.

Garnet represents the 2nd year anniversary gift. It will be our 2 year anniversary of being engaged! We are getting married in January and it is the birthstone for the month of January! Its all very symbolic!

At the end of the year Mr Wonderful will get this baby set! I have already chosen the setting!

I know its a pear, but its an example of a 3 stones setting with a trellis profile

And just lastly, this is the kind of ring collection I hope to acquire over the years!

Would you give up your car for Bling!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Apparently I will!

Ok back story.

My FI car is on a lease, the lease is about to expire, he is going to sell that car and get a new car. He had his time with is old car and is over the whole having a flashy car and just needs to get from point a to b.

I jokingly said, well if that’s the case, you can drive my car (8 year old Honda) and the new lease car can be mine. He went for it and we were going to swap cars and I was going to get a car I really liked!

Well I have had 2nd thoughts, we don’t need to spend that much, I let FI have the car he now wants with 1 condition, I get me some bling!!!!!

So what shall I get??? I am thinking a nice rose gold diamond band, or earrings or set my pink topaz into a pendant.

I love Bling!

KINK

KINK by Stephanie Clifford-Smith.

I just finished reading this book. . . .

Mr Wonderful bought it for me at Sydney Airport when he realised he forgot to pack my birthday gift, which was also a book (Push by Sapphire) the ‘Precious’ movie book.

I’m not a prude or anything, but it was certainly and eye opener. Glad I read it though, because like the author, I am now ‘unshockable’

Week Away

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

This news is very worthy of a blog post or two!

I have been so slack, I hate it!

Anyways on March the 10th Mr Wonderful and I jet-setted off to Melbourne for a week!

It was just an escapade through Melbournes food scene really!

Wednesday night, we had dinner at il solito posto Yum Yum Yum! I wanted to look at the dessert menu but resisted! Highly recommend. It is opposite Jamie Oliver’s Restaurant Fifteen.

Thursday was my birthday (22, what and old duck) Mr Wonderful forgot to pack my pressie, but more then made up for it when he took me to the new and FIRST Miu Miu Boutique in Aus! Now the proud owner of a Mini Bow Bag!

He also took me to Melbourne’s tallest building, where you can go into a glass box which hangs of the the side of the building at 88 floors above! Was a very touristy thing to do but I loved it!

Birthday cake was replaced with these babies!

For dinner, We went to Cutler & Co where my cousin Sally is the award wining Sommelier We were positively tipsy by the end of the night after devouring our way through the wine menu hand selected and guided by my cousin Sally. Made for a very joyous night.

Friday was spent catching up with my cousins and having a big breakfast at 3 bags full in Abbotsford which had the yummiest freash juice I have ever had. For dinner we went to Comme It was nice, could have been better I feel. My desert was lovely though.

Saturday we had dinner at Ezard This place was a knock out! It was the stand out! Really loved this place.

Sunday we went to St Kilda. Very sunny and hot day! Luna park is there and the markets was on! Had a recommendation to go to Circa. Great idea! The icy cold cocktails were just the thing I needed!

Smoke eel and creme fraiche cones!

Naughty Naughty

That is all I can say.

I don’t know what is wrong with me. I thought that it would be easier to blog if you had really exciting things to talk about ….. and I do. But then I feel like I am tooting my trumpet too much and everyone think I am gloating. Well This is my fricken blog and I will fear not anymore!

Exciting things that have been happening to me!

1 –¬† Had a job interview for a government role that I have been temping in for over 4 years. There are 2 roles I have applied for, both part time. A hellava lot of people applied for these positions and I feel really good that I got an interview.

2 РMr Wonderful and I had our 5 year anniversary of knowing each other!!!! 5 YEARS! We went to Claudes for dinner and had an ultra extravagant dinner! Thoroughly enjoyed. Robert surprised me with a GPS which I LOVE! I surprised him with  a Canon DSLR. So the nerd in him can take aeroplane pictures from the surrounds in Marrickville. Bless Him!

3 – I successfully purchased custom made jewelery off an American vendors website! They came in the post just yesterday! I tracked its progress with the tracking number on FedEx site all the way from Houston, TEXAS!!!

Have been insanely busy with works – all work!!! Have another website to do! Will be starting a big project with Mr Wonderful very shortly too. I have designed my brothers going away invitations and also a fellow voguettes. Now that I have a flashy camera, should be able to capture some nice snap shots to display on this blog and also on my work in progress website!
